About us
A short portrait of the project partners behind In terris Gryphi.
The Team
German and Polish libraries, institutes and archives work together — across borders and with state-of-the-art technology — to make Pomerania’s treasures widely known. Here we are at the 2025 kick-off meeting.
Across all the locations there are even more of us: in total 26 staff members and 13 student assistants are involved — at least in part — in the project.
The partners
Four institutions, one mission
University Library Greifswald
The University Library Greifswald (shown here: the Old Library on Rubenowstraße) is the lead partner in the project. We handle digitisation and public-relations work, and coordinate the exhibitions and conferences.
Książnica Pomorska im. Stanisława Staszica
The Pomeranian Library in Szczecin digitises various collections, curates an exhibition on Pomerania’s historical heritage and is preparing its own travel guide, “Mysterious Pomerania”, as well as a schoolbook on the region’s history.
Institute of Geography and Geology Greifswald
The Institute of Geography and Geology at the University of Greifswald contributes a team of dedicated researchers and geodata specialists. With a focus on GIS and remote sensing, they bring map material, geographic-information expertise and web know-how.
State Office for Road Construction & Transport MV
The State Office for Road Construction and Transport Mecklenburg-Vorpommern supports the digitisation of road-construction documents from the State Archive MV and is preparing an exhibition on regional road-building history.

The University Library Greifswald coordinates the project and runs it together with Książnica Pomorska (the Pomeranian Regional Library) in Szczecin and the State Office for Road Construction and Transport Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Associated partners include the Tourism Association Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the State Archive in Schwerin and the State Transport Authority Brandenburg.
