Privacy Policy

Legal basis
Where we process personal data on the basis of your consent (responding to enquiries by email), Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR serves as the legal basis.
Logging
Each time our website is accessed, the following data is stored in log files for the purposes of data security and for statistical purposes:
- IP address,
- time of access,
- UserAgent (browser and operating system used),
- pages or content elements accessed and
- if provided, the referrer URL (the previously visited page).
The purpose of logging is to detect, limit and eliminate malfunctions and to detect misuse pursuant to Section 12(1) and (4) TDDDG. The IP address is not combined with other data sets. The data is stored for a maximum of seven days.
Cookies
When you visit our website, so-called “session cookies” are placed and stored on your computer. The legal basis for this is Section 25(2) TDDDG. Cookies are small text files that serve to make the online offering more user-friendly, effective and secure. They do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. As a rule, session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit to our website. You can disable the storage of cookies through the corresponding settings in your browser. Please note that if you do so, you may not be able to use all the functions of our website to their full extent.
Your rights
You have the right to withdraw any consent you have given to the processing of personal data at any time and without giving reasons, with effect for the future, in writing to the University of Greifswald, Greifswald University Library, Felix-Hausdorff-Str. 10, 17489 Greifswald, or by email to in-terris-gryphi@uni-greifswald.de.
In addition, you have the right, upon request, to receive free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose and duration of the data processing.
